We are very pleased to offer our Pineau des Charentes direct to you!
Gaston Rivière is one of the oldest growers in Pineau des Charentes in the Cognac region of France. He launched Pineau François 1er in 1934, and over the years has received much deserved praise. Using Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon (for his rosé) and old vine Colombard grapes (for his white) grown on the limestone hillsides overlooking the Charentes River, Monsieur Rivière follows the same method today developed centuries ago. The brandy is distilled in an antique, coal-fired still and aged for about one year. A blend of ¾ fresh juice and ¼ young Cognac is aged in Limousin oak casks for at least 3 years before bottling it unfiltered. To be called Pineau des Charentes, the grapes must come from the Cognac region.
All of our wines offered here have been properly imported, carefully handled, and are available for immediate shipment directly from our U.S. stocks. We hope you enjoy our wines!
